I really wanted to get rid of the distracting background, though.






















That wasn't enough. I needed to get rid of the distracting green shirt, too. Sorry, Ethan. :) Now it's perfect! To do this, I used a variety of selection tools and feathered with a radius between 5-25. I touched up with a very soft-edged brush in spots, with a color selected from the background with the dropper tool.
