Taking a Stab at Landscape

So I've never claimed to be good at landscape photography, but I was on a little nature walk today and came across this totally sweet tree... well roots. I couldn't resist. What do you think?

Sunburst

I finally figured out how to get a nice "sunburst" effect with my aperture at f/22. I tried this a few weeks ago but it didn't work, so I'm happy with the results I got this time. Next time I think I'll learn to use my Speedlite 580EX a little better and try this effect with some fill flash so you can see Amber's face. I like her silhouette in this one, though.

Just Playing Around

Owen was happy posing for me this afternoon while I played around with the different types of metering on my camera. It still needed some Photoshop assistance, but better than I was doing, I think.
